Severe Storms Likely Tomorrow
Weather Update: Wednesday, March 24 —
Clouds will decrease giving way to mainly sunny skies by late morning and definitely by this afternoon. Temperatures should easily climb through the 60s and into the mid to upper 70s. Skies will remain mainly clear through the afternoon and into this evening. Tonight skies will remain mainly clear through about midnight before clouds increase. Right now it looks like the showers and storms will begin to form and increase in areal coverage after about 3~4 AM and continue through mid to late morning. Like last week, the first round may not actually have much severe weather, but expect very heavy rain, frequent lightning and hail as the main issue. There could also be some flash flooding. The warm front is forecast to keep moving this time round, especially with the trough dynamically turning negative tilt. That should force the warm sector north into West Tennessee by late morning, there appears to be a window where the atmosphere has time to recover. The main event at this point appears to be in a window between 2 and 6 PM tomorrow. Latest update from the Storm Prediction Center has upgraded most of West Tennessee to a Moderate Risk (4/5) for severe storms.
