McKenzie’s first new mayor in 10+ years takes office

MCKENZIE, Tenn. — One city welcomes a new mayor after more than a decade.

Mayor Ryan Griffin was sworn in at McKenzie City Hall Tuesday during a private ceremony with family and close friends.

Griffin took home the seat in November, beating his opponent, former Mayor Jill Holland.

This will be the first time in over a decade that McKenzie will have a new mayor.

“First thing is I want to see everything that we have already committed to, look at projects we need to finish, and then look and see where we need to grow,” Mayor Griffin said. “Parks and recreation is one of the top things on my list, community safety, and making sure that our police are working at the best and the top of their ability.”

Griffin says he is looking forward to working with the citizens of McKenzie.
