Ralston Baptist Church celebrates 150 years
MARTIN, Tenn.—Ralston Baptist Church is celebrating a milestone today– its 150th anniversary
The church began in 1874 in Martin just off Highway 22 on Lackey Road.
Today the church welcomed the congregation with a special service.
This included a performance from Living Truth Quartet and also messages from three of the church’s prior pastors.
There was also a retelling of the church’s rich history and a time capsule presentation.
“And what an honor and a privilege that has been given to me by God to actually be here in this historical event of 150 years, to celebrate this time with them. Many of the members here have been members their entire life here. To be able to celebrate this time and hear the many things that have been done is just an uplift to me of how great our God is,” said Pastor Kenneth Springer.
The cross artwork shown next to Pastor Springer was made from the floors of the original Ralston Baptist Church.
He says, what a wonderful way to commemorate the day and the work of God.
