School Report Cards Released: Hardeman County Increases In Growth

BOLIVAR, Tenn- In spite of some low scores on their state report card, Hardeman County school officials are celebrating growth. While the schools’ grades remain below average in math, reading, science and social studies the report shows that the school system is improving. The academic growth is based on previous years’ scores. Hardeman County jumped from a “B” to an “A” in Math, a critical subject in education. In addition, all areas of studies increased by one letter grade. Superintendent Warner Ross, said the schools are encouraged with the community’s help. “It’s been overwhelming support. People want to be involved,” said Ross. Principles and other school officials are already meeting to discuss changes. Ross says parental involvement is key.
