Body Found in Madison County

An unidentified body was found shortly after 2:30, Friday afternoon in West Madison County. According to Madison County Sheriff David Woolfork, the body was found near Huntersville on Most Road. It was burned beyond recognition. The Memphis Police Department’s homicide division is heading up the investigation. The Jackson Fire Department confirms they found a car that was set on fire Thursday night. Firefighters responded to a car fire at 7:04 p.m. near the intersection of Park Avenue and Crescent Avenue. The car’s passenger compartment was fully engulfed upon arrival. The fire was reported by a nearby resident who said she saw two juveniles near the vehicle shortly before the fire. Officials say the fire is suspicious in nature.
