2023 Recap: A look back at the generosity of West Tennessee
JACKSON, Tenn. – From galas to a call to action, local organizations have been making a difference in the lives of those around us.
And it couldn’t happen without the generosity of so many here in West Tennessee.
Let’s take a look through 2023 at some of those unforgettable and needed events.
In January, the sound of music filled the air at the Crystal Ball Gala as many celebrated the effects of the Jackson Symphony and those who have supported them.
From music to food, February combined the art of caring with the love of football.
First Presbyterian Church held its annual Souper Bowl of Caring where participants came to purchase various soups and the proceeds went to benefit RIFA.
Moving into March, many nonprofits united for the Tennessee Day of Hope, coming together to make strides for a better future.
In April, the love of veterans brought locals out at the Reboot Camp Charity to discuss ways to help prevent veteran suicides.
In May, the Evening of Giving empowered a local sorority chapter to help many nonprofits in the community.
In June, you needed your walking shoes on because the second annual Alzheimer’s Tennessee-Jackson Walk took place to spread awareness of the disease.
And West Tennessee, your generosity continued to expand in July as the need for donations for students in foster care was announced for the new school year.
In August, the ringing of phones could be heard as many called in bountiful donations at the Circles of Hope telethon.
In September, we took you to the Vintage Ball where women’s’ giving empowered them to grant scholarships.
Keeping our fancy shoes in October, some of you took to the grand stage to raise money for the Dream Center through the Star Center’s Dancing with the Stars event.
From cool moves to some fun wheels, in November, the Rides 4 Rugrats encouraged donations for the Angel Tree and trade school programs.
And don’t think the fun is stopping there. We still have a couple of days to prepare for the Dream Builders event on December 31 to give towards projects impacting those in our community.
